RAW APPLE BREAD
(Adapted from Beard on Bread by James
Beard)
INGREDIENTS
< ½ cup butter, softened
< 1 cup granulated sugar
< 2 large or extra-large eggs
< 1 teaspoon vanilla
< 2 cups all-purpose flour
< ½ teaspoon salt
< ½ teaspoon baking soda
< 1 teaspoon baking powder
< 2 tablespoons buttermilk
< 1 cup coarsely chopped, unpeeled

< ½ cup coarsely chopped walnuts or
pecans
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, cream butter, and
gradually add sugar. Beat until fluffy. Blend
in eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients,
and stir into creamed mixture alternating
